Videos are rendered with DaVinci Resolve. Yes, I do add some color saturation and contrast in processing. I usually do some editing to the audio as well to reduce wind noise.

  1. How is a helmet suppose to fit? How tight is right and how tight is to tight? I'm new to riding and my helmet has gotten loser in the first season. It fits great (from what I know) but when I go fast (80+) the wind is able to push my helmet back considerably. So far back where my nose hits the built in retractable sun visor. Is this normal? Should I have gone with a large instead of an extra large? I've seen people take their helmet off and I can see pad indentations on their forehead. Is this to tight? Or how it's suppose to be?

  2. Very important video Dodge, thanks!  Also the helmet needs to fit almost too tight in the beginning because it breaks in and lends more room after a few weeks.
I have several helmets and live in the desert where ventilation is critical.  My Arai Vector has hands down the best air flow and is the coolest.
My Shoei RF1200 is the most compact shell and is also very nice, but I like the Arai better.
My AGV AX-8 Naked has the best peripheral view on the side.  The visibility on the sides when checking lanes is very good.
I have a Shuberth C3-Pro I'm going to order next and hopefully it's a good modular.
Good points on the fitment from manufacturers.  I order everything off and they have this dude that does literally a video breakdown on every product and then there are comments at the bottom from buyers that give reviews about it.  It is a full education in product before you buy.  I wish I had never found the place because I blow all my dough now on gear…..

  3. I have a Scorpion EXO 1100 but I recently figured out that the wrong size was fitted on me in Sept 2013. I didn't know anything, just got my license, first gear purchase. It is very comfortable, nice features, but now it's an old model with a replacement T1200 so prices are low. Going to try the Shoei GT-Air, I have an FZ8 and other forum members either have it or want it. Hoping for more safety, air flow, quieter, easy to set-up my Sena 20S.

  4. And knowing all that, I still messed up buying a helmet. I wasn't paying attention to other matters that I was concerned about, but not thinking about.

My new helmet is so "slickery" that the GoPro falls off under its own weight – abd I wanted to add a Sena backpack to it. It ain't going to happen.

  5. I enjoy my variant. It is much like wearing a ball cap. The bill blocks a lot of sun. And it may be a heavy bugger but hot damn the breeze rolls in so good. The only thing that could improve in my mind is the flip face. If it did flip face I would love it at stops. My speed triple and icon and it's a good day.

  6. I'm going to be honest and put my hand up to confess that I bought my helmet on its pretty design. but in my defence, the shoei NXR is the right shape for me, has great venting, came with a pinlock as standard, has decent wind noise, is really small and light, and goes great on long-distance rides and track days alike. I did take all these things into consideration, but in the end the pretty design sealed the deal 😛 great piece of advice for new riders/prospective buyers here. This one's going in my Prime Picks playlist!
